by Travis Clark

May 26, 2026

Players featured in this article:

This coming weekend features the final ECNL Girls event of the 2025-26 season, before the playoffs take place in July. The Greensboro, N.C. area serves as host.

Players in the Under-15 through Under-17 age groups will take the field, competing in the final stretch in front of college coaches.

For the U17s, it’s either a chance to check in with future coaches, angle for a spot in the 2027 recruiting class or compete ahead of June 15 and the opening of the recruiting window.

Here are some of the U17 players to keep tabs on in North Carolina.

Samantha Trimble, PDA Blue – One of a few players on the PDA Blue Legacy 09 squad from the class of 2028, Trimble can play as a 10, 7 or 11. Already on a team with talented future college players, Trimble can underline her college chances with a strong performance this weekend.

Samantha Trimble, Montville, Jr., F/M

Trimble spent the last two years making a name for herself at Mountain Lakes, and won a state championship as a freshman contributor in 2024. After transferring to nearby Montville in the offseason, the junior is doing big things for a Mustangs team on the rise. Her career-high for goals and assists in a season is 14 and five, and she’s already on her way to shattering those numbers. Through two games Trimble has posted five goals and four assists and the Mustangs have yet to be challenged. She has added a whole new layer of attacking for the Mustangs, which already possessed junior Karolina Bodyziak, who scored 27 goals last season and already has seven this year. Trimble is no longer an underclassmen on the rise. She is a veteran who’s capable of helping Montville compete throughout the 2026 season.

On a day when PDA was about perfect, Stanislaus led the charge with multiple goals as the team stormed to a 7-0 victory. The pick of the bunch was a chipped volley finish that caught the keeper off guard. Rivaling that goal was a touring header by Madisyn Abella as she rose way above everyone else on a corner. Danica Tsapatsaris, Amari Manning, Gabrielle Parker, and Samantha Trimble were among other difference-makers on an incredibly talented roster. With PDA looking as good as it did and continuing a season's long unbeaten streak, this team is one of the favorites to return to the national finals.

PDA Blue 2009 squad won the Nike Premier Cup on Saturday, July 27 2024, a tournament featuring 12 top Under-15 teams from 12 different countries.

The New Jersey power and 2023 ECNL U14 National Champions defeated a South Korean All-Star team in a penalty shootout to capture the crown after a 0-0 draw at the Nike Globe Headquarters in Portland.

The KFA All Star team advanced to the final, and it was another epic test for PDA. Both sides had chances to win it in the game, though were unable to find the back of the net. It was capped off by a 7-6 shootout win for the NJ side, as Samantha Trimble converted the decisive spot kick after Reigrod made a save. www.TopDrawerSoccer.com

2024 Mountain Lakes, New Jersey Group I

Mountain Lakes looks ready to win another championship. The 11 and 1 Lakers boast a well-distributed attack led by Abigail Hawes and Daisy Duda, an NC State commit. Ashton Parker, Maya Ritche, Emily Tomayo, and Samantha Trimble are others to know on a squad rich with enough talent to win a third consecutive title.
